Volunteering

Volunteering at the Lara RSL

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Lara RSL Sub Branch.

We welcome new people to join our dedicated volunteer team.

Fundraising and Appeals

Volunteer roles at Lara RSL mainly centre on fundraising through selling badges just before ANZAC DAY and selling poppies prior to REMEMBRANCE DAY.

Sellers generally follow a roster and “set up shop” at Coles. Our Appeals Officer may also require assistance to assemble, pack and deliver merchandise trays to local schools and businesses before, and then collect the proceeds and stock balances directly after our Appeals.

Veteran Community Support

Veteran Community Support volunteers provide well-being support to veterans and their families and may undertake a number of roles including: –

Hospital & Home Visitation
Veteran Transport
Welfare Officers
Pensions Officers
Other Veterans Support Activities

Most veteran support roles require volunteers to undergo a National Police Check for Aged Care. Some Veterans Support roles such as Pensions Officers and Welfare Officers also require volunteers to undergo specialized accredited training to enable them to undertake their duties. We fully support interested volunteers to become accredited.

Museum and Memorabilia

Our Curator is always looking for volunteers to assist in adding our extensive collection onto a national database via the internet and maintain the museum to a high standard with continuous updates and themed displays.
